Even in the best of circumstances, accidents can happen. We as parents and staff need to always be on alert, so please keep the following in mind:
- Please do not leave children unattended in your car, even if you think it’s only for a second. It is also a California state law, called “Kaitlyn’s Law”, that parents and/or guardians are to never leave a child under the age of 6 in a motor vehicle without supervision (http://www.kidsandcars.org/files/2014/08/California-state-law.pdf). There are many factors that can cause harm to a child left unattended, which include, heatstroke, trunk entrapment, child kidnapping, etc. For more information regarding dangers of children and vehicles, please check out http://www.kidsandcars.org/
- Please drive slowly and carefully when you are in the parking lot, especially at high traffic times (8:30am-9am and 5:30-6pm). Even with reminding, the small children can dart out in front of cars. Also, please be on alert for children coming from any direction while driving in the parking lot.
- Please park only in designated parking spaces. Do not park on the sides of the islands in the middle of the front parking lot as this limits visibility and endangers pedestrians. Also, large delivery and service vehicles need that space to move around our lot.
