Explore a career at Ames Child Care Center!
The ACCC is a NAEYC accredited Center and has a developmental, child-centered, play-based philosophy. Our center focuses on the whole child’s needs by giving equal consideration to each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth and development. The values of respect, cooperation, kindness, and trust are core to all relationships between children, parents, and staff. The ACCC strives to maintain a stable and high-quality teaching staff and offers competitive benefits. Three distinct programs exist at the ACCC based on age-groups – Infant, Toddler, and Pre-School – with appropriate and consistent standards in all departments.
Our Infant/Toddler curriculum is child-centered and focuses on caregiving and play. Learning is based on interactions, relationships between peers and caregivers, the environment provided, and the development that is occurring. Our Pre-school program is built on emergent curriculum planning where learning is based on children’s interests, developmental themes, and everyday life happenings. The children learn through play in an environment that fosters cooperation, social and emotional growth, relationships with people, and collaborative learning.
