Dear ACCC Community,
We are writing to notify you that a staff member at ACCC has tested positive for COVID-19 on 1/22/22.
We have confirmed:
- The staff member last attended ACCC 1/21/22
- The individual has been instructed to isolate and follow ACCC COVID Policy Decision Tree
- Based on this timeline there is an exposure risk to ACCC students and staff
Due to the potential for exposure at ACCC, we are completing contact tracing. All close-contacts to the positive staff member are being notified and will be following our updated COVID Decision Tree (attached for reference) prior to returning to the Center.
We have made the difficult decision to close ACCC for Monday, 1/24/22, and Tuesday, 1/25/22. The plan is to reopen the center on Wednesday, 1/26/22, pending staff availability.
We are doing this out of an abundance of caution in light of the two positive cases resulting in exposure at ACCC this week. We will be having the center deep cleaned on Monday/Tuesday and will require that staff test and have a negative result prior to returning on Wednesday.
We strongly recommend that all families monitor closely for symptoms and that students get tested as well, but are not requiring this.
We understand receiving this letter may cause you to wonder about the specific circumstances of the positive case. Federal and state laws limit the information we can share to maintain the confidentiality of our students and staff.
Apologies for the short notice and the difficulties this will cause for many. Our top priority is the safety of our children, teachers, and staff.
Please reach out if you have questions or concerns, please reach out to the covid-task-force@ameschildcare.org and we are happy to help.
Thanks,
Kelley Alwood
