Join us April 8-12, 2019 for five fun-filled, themed days to celebrate our youngest learners! The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration hosted by ACCC (NAEYC) to spotlight early learning, young children, their teachers, families, and communities.
Schedule of visitors and activities:
Monday April 8th
- Hat Day
- 10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Music with Teacher Sean and Book Mobile
- Enjoy and sing along with Teacher Sean and sit back and relax with Teacher Xiaoli and her Chinese lute
- The children will visit the Bookmobile and the librarian will read a story to the children.
Tuesday, April 9th
- Green Day
- 10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Dentist visit from California Dental Home and Gardening time with Teacher Dolores
Wednesday, April 10th
- Wacky Hair Day
- 10:00 am-12:00 pm: Story Time with fire fighters and visiting the fire truck
Thursday, April 11th
- Pajama Day
- 10:00 am – 12:00 pm: A pediatrician will be visiting each classroom and talking to the children about healthy habits and Sara Torres, Ames Education Specialist, will be visiting and will do some hands on aerospace science
Friday, April 12th
- Sports Wear Day
- 10:00 am – 12:00 pm: Yummy recipes with Rosa. Vanguard and Apollo: Field trip to the Commissary.
